An assistant that has read your ledger
Not a chatbot bolted onto a spreadsheet. It answers from your real balances, your real bills, and your real budgets — and it is not allowed to invent a single figure.
“Can I afford this?”
The question people actually have, and the one a list of last month's transactions cannot answer. Here it is, end to end.

Can I afford a $450 phone this month?
Yes — but it is tighter than it looks.
After the 3 bills still due ($1,663.99) you have $2,190 spendable. The phone leaves $1,740 for 11 days, about $310 below your usual pace.
It also pushes your Emergency fund goal back by roughly three weeks.

What the model is not allowed to do
These constraints are the product. Without them this is a chatbot guessing about your rent.
It never does the maths
Every balance, budget total, and projection comes from a deterministic engine. The model is handed finished numbers and asked to explain them. A language model that is good at sounding right is the wrong tool for arithmetic you will make decisions on.
It reads only what the question needs
Ask about a purchase and it gets the relevant balances, the bills still due, and the budgets in play — not your entire history. Every answer names what it read, so you can check it.
It answers about YOUR money
Generic advice is free everywhere on the internet. The value is a number that applies to you: what this purchase leaves you with, for how many days, and what it delays.
It is optional
No AI key configured means the AI surfaces simply say so and switch off. Tracking, budgets, reports, and everything else keep working exactly as before.
Four places AI earns its keep
Each one replaces a chore you would otherwise do by hand.
Assistant
Ask about affordability, a category that jumped, or what is due before payday.
Budget builder
A full set of category limits drafted from what you have actually been spending.
Receipt scanning
Photograph a receipt; merchant, amount, and date come back for you to confirm.
Weekly insights
A short read on what moved this week and why, in sentences rather than charts.
Ask it something about your own money
Add your accounts, record a week, and the assistant has enough to be useful. Free while we are in beta.
